SELEX Sistemi Integrati has based its organisational model on creating value for the shareholder. The underlying principle is that each initiative must yield an additional return that is greater than the weighed average cost of invested capital. The model applied at SELEX Sistemi Integrati involves all company processes and resources and considers value as the fulcrum of operational management. Thus, rather than constituting a simple parameter for measuring performance, value is indeed a "compass" for management: a "compass" based on ValCom®, enabling evaluation of every project according to generated value, both during the planning stage and during lifecycle management.
Another distinctive feature of SELEX Sistemi Integrati company management is the business managementmodel. SELEX Sistemi Integrati's choice is based on the definition and assignment of responsibilities to the project teams (Integrated Project Teams - IPTs), which jointly encompass all the functions and skills involved. The task of the Integrated Project Teams is to ensure, as the sole joint responsibility for the entire project lifecycle, the generation of value in accordance with the pre-established technical, economic and financialobjectives, whilst achieving full customer satisfaction. Resources assigned to the IPTs do not vary, as far as possible, during the entire project lifecycle, so as to ensure uninterrupted results. Indeed, the presence of all company functions and capabilities ensures, thanks to team members' peculiar skills, both the appropriate technical, economic and financial contribution to the project, and the proper connection between the project and the activities assigned to the represented function, whilst establishing the fundamental link between function and project.
