Antennas
For over five decades, SELEX Sistemi Integrati designed, developed, built and tested many antennas: from reflectors to  passive/active phased-array antennas , mainly from L through X-Band. 
 
SELEX Sistemi Integrati has vast experience in designing phased array antenna elements, radomes, microwave beamformers, phase shifters, signal and control distribution networks, antenna controllers, in order to provide optimum performance over wide steering angles, meeting high profile customer requirements and to maintain and improve the related technologies and capabilities:
 
  • Electromagnetic Modelling Capabilities using Proprietary/Commercial Tools
  • Smart Skin Antennas, Tile concept and Ultra Wide Band/Scan Antennas for multifunction radar systems design capabilities
  • Anechoic Chamber Near Field facilities are specially designed and automated, achieving the convenience and speed required for accurate data gathering and reduction, focusing in Antenna Test, Fault Diagnosis and Calibration.
Mechanical Department
Mechanical Department is involved in the design of Radar Systems from the beginning of the project in order to meet the requirements regarding the physical and functional characteristics of the units and of the entire system.In particular, dimensions, weight, thermal behavior and transport requirements are the main issues to be analysed.
The analysis is performed by simulation techniques starting from solid model and virtually applying to it loads and temperatures  to simulate the real behavior in an integrated environment following a virtual testing logic.
Principal items designed in the department are antennas, cabinets, pallets, shelters and rotating platforms.
 
 
 
 
 
 
High Performance Receiver
For modern Radar Sensors, SELEX Sistemi Integrati design and develop High performance Receivers starting from Front End up to advanced Digital Signal Processor. 

SELEX Sistemi Integrati has a long experience in developing Transmit/Receive modules for electronically beam scanning antenna array, analog and digital beam forming and compact multiple receivers for last advanced Radar technology.
High performance Receivers and related waveform and frequency synthesizers has been realized in many classical radar bandwidth starting from VHF to millimeter band with high dynamic range, low noise figure and high selectivity.

SELEX Sistemi Integrati has a broad range of internal capabilities in order to choose the best technology to match the specific requirements.
Receiver Designs can take advantage of:
  • State of the art GaAs and GaAn foundry for MMIC design and development
  • Microelectronics thick and thin film capabilities and advanced LTCC and HTCC multilayer for packaged monolithic and multichips assembly
  • Multilayer PCB with mixed SMT, Ball Grid Array and Flip Chip technologies
  • Photonic technology for design and development of very high speed signal processing components and subsystems such as A/D Converter at microwave frequency high bit rate data transfer, radar transponders and new generation of high frequency very low noise oscillators
